So…digital is the future! "Hmmm…" is the reaction I was familiar with for many years. However, I saw something whilst waiting for the tube which made me smile and filled me with energy. It was a billboard advert by the Guardian newspaper which, very simply at the bottom of the marketing speak, advertised its content delivery media: Digital, print, tablet, mobile.
Could you ever have imagined that a newspaper would promote its digital format before print, its bread-and-butter format?
This got me thinking…let’s get some stats on how people like to read the news, compare them and then take the mean. This'll see if their marketing campaign stacks up or if it’s actually a clever way of subtly changing their audience's mind on how the content should and can be viewed.
I imagine you can guess what idea came next... that's right, Treat Digital is going to hit the streets of London and ask members of the general public which content delivery channel they like/choose to read their favourite newspaper.
