    Integrating a business online

    {image_1_description}

    The client

    YSC is a global firm of business psychologists that helps organisations release the power of their people. The firm has offices in the UK, Europe, the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Africa.

    The project

    Treat Digital was asked to completely redesign and build YSC’s web operations. This included taking an advisory role in the development of the firm’s long-term web strategy.

    Due to its global growth and range of services, YSC’s digital communications had developed in a piecemeal manner, making its website disjointed and inconsistent. A major part of the brief was to integrate the business online, and present it in a more structured but inclusive way. The firm’s diverse range of audiences needed to be catered for in subtly different ways, while retaining a consistent visual style across all areas of the site.

    Additional elements of the brief included creating a visual identity that would reflect YSC’s unique business model and character, and designing a site that would promote the firm’s burgeoning thought-leadership.

    The result

    Treat was involved from the very start in an advisory role that extended beyond just the design and build of the site. We collaborated with a number of different stakeholders within the firm to optimise the project for every part of the business.

    By researching and scoping the project properly at the outset we were able to create a website structure that suited all stakeholders, showcasing regional nuances in addition to promoting a firm-wide YSC brand.

    To create an accurate, lasting digital identity, we worked comprehensively with YSC to get to the bottom of their character, values, culture, markets, future plans, and so on. This involved a series of brainstorming sessions, competitor research and collecting questionnaires from both clients and staff.

    In addition to the complete redesign and build of the new website, Treat also advised YSC on a number of other fundamental aspects crucial to having a modern, effective digital presence. For example, YSC now have a series of video interviews with longstanding clients detailing how YSC has improved their businesses.

    Asking questions...

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    B P Collins LLP is a leading UK regional law firm based in Buckinghamshire, who are dedicated to delivering the very best legal advice to both private individuals and organisations. They work with a wide variety of clients across a wide range of sectors.

    The Work

    The team at B P Collins LLP felt that their digital communications needed a fresh approach. The previous website was not structured in a user-friendly way, and the design failed to represent the firm’s strong heritage as a leading regional law firm.

    Treat Digital proposed that the new website be redesigned completely in order to modernise the visual aspect, while also restructuring the information architecture. The aim of the latter was to reflect better both the firm’s large range of legal solutions and their specialist areas.

    The current branding was retained, but made more contemporary through the use of unique imagery taken from the local Buckinghamshire landscape and community.

    To support better access to information, the homepage features a simple drop down menu that points the user quickly to the content they are looking for. Questions ask the user who they are and what they are looking for, for example: ‘I am...an employer’ which then brings up various options such as ‘seeking legal advice on commercial leases...’

    The Result

    The new website has better organised content, is simpler to navigate and is visually more appealing. Valuable features include an improved search facility, personalised query tool, and greater flexibility and faster updating via a new content management system that enables B P Collins to communicate with clients and other audiences through many formats, including podcasts, videos, apps, blogs and microsites.

  • IOMA

    A digital makeover...

    {image_1_description}

    The client

    IOMA is an international skincare and cosmetics company based in Paris. Driven by a strong research and scientific ethos, the IOMA brand is a growing presence in this most competitive of markets.

    The project

    IOMA’s previous website was out-of-date and not clearly structured, making it difficult to browse and a substandard ‘shop window’ for the brand. It also relied too heavily on Flash technology, which search engines don’t read, and so made IOMA difficult to find on the web.

    In order to present the brand and its products better across all markets, IOMA needed a complete reorganisation and redesign of its digital presence. During a series of meetings with key IOMA representatives, we produced a strategy to solve its fundamental online problems.

    Result

    IOMA now have a website that represents its business better in every way: it communicates the brand better, showcases the products better, and informs users of the benefits of using the products better.

    Users have faster, easier access to information and specific actions, which makes the website more ‘sticky’: in other words, visitors stick around for longer, increasing the chances of them buying a product or getting in touch.

    The website is also easier to find on search engines. Web traffic has increased by 45% month on month since the beginning of 2012 (2262 visitors in February versus 3290 in June). Much of this improvement is due to an active marketing and PR campaign for which the website has been the central point of focus.

    Perri Goes Digital

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    Aged just 23, Perri Shakes-Drayton is one of the most talked-about names in athletics and has been strongly touted as a potential medallist at the London 2012 Olympic games.

    The Work

    With the London 2012 Olympics approaching fast, we decided to get into the spirit of things by designing and building a website for 400m hurdler Perri Shakes Drayton.

    The image-based design showcases some fantastic photography of Perri that act as the background for the site. The colour scheme uses four strong, bright colours to highlight different areas of the site, and the use of a simple but slick navigation system makes the site very easy to use. Clear, large typography and the use of custom icons to highlight key information also helps add to the quality of the user experience. The content is concise and interesting, and includes rich media elements such as video. Items such as news and race results are regularly updated as well.

    It was important for Perri to be able to update the site herself ‘on the go’ so we built the website using the ExpressionEngine CMS to allow her to publish new content wherever she is in the world.

    The Result

    The site is a bold and striking platform that reflects Perri’s personality and allows her to showcase herself and keep her supporters in the loop in the run up to the 2012 Olympics, during the games, and long afterwards.

    Here’s what Perri thinks about the site: ‘I appreciate the effort, time, thought and creativity from all the staff at Treat Digital. You guys have done an awesome job to produce a website that represents me. Thanks a bunch’.

  • Landmark Chambers

    Landmark’s digital evolution goes from strength to strength

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    Landmark Chambers is a well-known barristers’ chambers comprising 74 members, including 22 QCs. Based in Fleet Street, Landmark is the leading set in planning, environmental, public and property law.

    The Work

    We have worked on a number of web design and development projects with Landmark, transforming their website from a very basic platform with little content to a stylish site with interactive features. At the beginning of this process we carried out a full rebrand of Landmark’s visual identity, which was then rolled out across all media, including business cards and letterheads.

    The Result

    Landmark now has an enduring brand, website and print materials that reflect their unique values and identity accurately across all communication channels, positioning them ahead of many competitors.

  • Carmelite Chambers

    What's your background?

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    Carmelite is one of the largest and most established barristers’ chambers in the UK. With over 70 barristers, this leading defense and prosecution set has unrivalled expertise in serious fraud, terrorism, murder, espionage, money laundering, and extradition.

    The Work

    Carmelite's old website was a poor communications hub for the chambers as a whole, and particularly as a showcase for the tenants. The site was out-of-date, had confusing navigation and IA, and even had a welcome page which was pushing visitors away.

    Treat was brought in to overhaul the structure of the site, its visual presentation, and add more functionality to the site. We were asked to create a modern, user-friendly digital platform that would impress visitors visually, and strengthen Carmelite’s identity as a professional, contemporary set.

    The Result

    As the images show, the new website design is both visually stunning and simple to browse. We incorporated striking photos of the chambers into the design to add a strong sense of place to the site. These background images vary throughout the site.

    The central introduction and feature area scrolls in two ways, adding a dynamic element to the site, as well as more space for feature content. A simple but clear top navigation system fits in well with the striking, yet minimalist design. Further into the site, key areas like barristers’ profiles and practice area pages have easy-to-read templates that are packed with additional features such as dynamic content.

  • Valirx

    A flexible site for a growing company

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    Valirx plc is a biopharmaceutical company developing technologies and products in oncology therapeutics and diagnostics.

    The Work

    Valirx’s old site was in desperate need of attention. It lacked content, was repetitive and the navigation structure was confusing for users. It also had a very dated design.

    The main objectives for the new site were to modernise the design and develop the Valirx brand online, improve user engagement by optimising visitor journeys and web usability, and allow for greater flexibility and reactivity in publishing information online.

    It was important to adapt the design and information architecture for Valirx’s evolving company structure and ensure that their subsidiaries were seamlessly integrated within the site; as well as making the website fully flexible to be able to accommodate other companies if Valirx expand their portfolio further. To achieve this, the website was built using the ExpressionEngine CMS to give Valirx full control over the site and allow them to easily add to and evolve the site in time.

    The Result

    The new website has provided Valirx with an online presence that raises the profile of the company, and that supports their positioning and strategy. The site has a clear and bold tab style menu providing quick and easy access to information.

    The homepage features an infographic based on a compound diagram that highlights the key areas of the site and allows a different way into the product, people and mission statement pages. Users can also easily access the integrated sites for Valirx’s subsidiaries through clear tabs at the top of page. These are visible on all pages of the site.

  • MEMSCAP

    International & Multilingual

    {image_1_description}

    The Client

    MEMSCAP is a world leader in innovative products and solutions based on Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems for aerospace & defense, medical & biomedical, optical communications & adaptive optics and IT. MEMSCAP has offices in France, USA and Norway and an international client base.

    The Work

    MEMSCAP’s old website was dated and not meeting the company’s current needs. The aim was to modernise the company’s online presence and marketing strategy, improve investor relations, and support three languages; English, French and Chinese. Another major issue was the lack of new, centrally managed content, which made the site feel neglected.

    Efficient communication channels between MEMSCAP’s team based in France and Treat’s head office in London were vital to ensure the project progressed as planned. This was done through regular conference calls and email updates. A project collaboration platform was also used, providing MEMSCAP with live updates and the opportunity to share ideas and comments with our team.

    The Result

    With its simple but modern design, the new website helps to reinforce MEMSCAP as world leaders in their field. The homepage has quick links to key market segments, a simple navigation system and clear, easy to use features that encourage users to interact with the site. The content is dynamically generated based on tagging within the CMS.

    The site has multiple language options. The “first” language is English, but key pages of the investor relations area are in French, the language of many of the shareholders. There is also a specific section for Chinese visitors, with essential information such as MEMSCAP’s products and contact details.
